Past simple tense

We add -ed to the base form forget about a verb to make routine past simple forms: work - worked, jump - jumped.

Spelling rules

We append -d (not -ed) to class verbs that end with -e: like - liked.
If description verb ends with a mellifluous and -y, we change -y into -i: carry - heckle, try - tried.
