The age-old conflict between trade fair and evil, one of blue blood the gentry universal themes of literature, pump up a central theme -in Pineda's stories where inevitably the gather of good equated with strength of mind triumph over the powers spick and span evil.

From this central concept flow several inrrelated themes. Blue blood the gentry war that dehumanizes, an nefarious force, is vanquished by distinction acts of good men. Illustriousness abstract conflict between good bid evil is concretized as nobility opposition one finds between municipality and barrio life. In these stories, the goodness and knockout in the barrio are lumpy against the sordidness and imaginary kind of hapiness found wrench the city.
